Tectyl 5506W-I is a premium general-purpose corrosion preventive coating developed for machinery, machine rolls, tools, dies, tubing, automotive parts, and industrial components. Its waterborne polymer/wax-based formula ensures a fast-drying, durable, and flexible protective film that resists cracking even under extreme temperatures from -30 °C to +120 °C.

At a recommended dry film thickness of 50 µm, Tectyl™ 5506W-I delivers proven corrosion resistance with:

• ≥ 40 days salt spray resistance (ISO 9227, 5% NaCl @ 35 °C).

• ≥ 40 days humidity resistance (ISO 6270-2, 100% RH @ 40 °C).

• No cracks in bending tests at +70 °C and -30 °C.

This compound is ideal for both short-term storage and long-term protection of metallic surfaces in industrial and automotive environments. The film can be removed with water (wet phase) or Tectyl™ Biocleaner (cured phase), ensuring ease of maintenance.
