Loctite 5188 is a single-component, dimethacrylate ester-based anaerobic flange sealant engineered for sealing rigid metal assemblies where close-fitting surfaces are used. It cures in the absence of air (anaerobic conditions) between metal flanges to form a highly flexible, durable polymer seal.

The product provides instant low-pressure sealing and resists oil, transmission fluid, motor oil, and glycol-based coolants. It adheres exceptionally well to aluminum, making it particularly suited for gearboxes, pumps, engines, and mechanical housings.

With a working temperature range up to 150 °C (302 °F) and excellent long-term resistance to heat and chemicals, Loctite 5188 ensures leak-free, maintenance-free sealing performance in industrial and automotive environments.
